Three Joint Organisations  – Hunter Joint Organisation, Central NSW Joint Organisation and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation – have agreed to the formation of a Shared Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.  

This action is taking place in compliance with sections 428A and 428B of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) and in accordance with the Local Government (General) Amendment (Audit, Risk and Improvement Committees) Regulation 2023. 

The Shared Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee will commence operation late in June 2026 and will carry out its responsibilities within agreed Terms of Reference and a Memorandum of Understanding.
