StellaNord Consulting Pty Ltd (StellaNord) was engaged by the Illawara Shoalhaven Joint Organisation to facilitate workshops for each of the councils in its region as a means of providing support in the embedding of disaster risk reduction into Council integrated planning and reporting (IP&R) frameworks.

This initiative formed part of the ISJO’s portfolio of projects relating to disaster risk reduction under the Disaster Ready Fund Round 2 (DRF2).

The portfolio as a whole includes:

• Support for the Reconstruction Authority (RA) in its delivery of a state-aligned Regional Disaster Adaptation Plan (DAP)
• Mapping of communities vulnerable to electricity supply interruptions from natural hazards
• Natural Hazard Exposure Assessment of Council Critical Infrastructure
• Building of Council disaster resilience capability
• Oversight and improvement of the Attentis multi-hazard sensor network
• Working with other Joint Organisations that have DRF2 funding to collaborate and share resources.

Our opportunities report was prepared to outline the content of the workshops and to identify potential areas and projects for collaboration based on workshop outcomes.

Individual opportunities reports were also prepared for each ISJO Member Council.
