Connecting supply and demand to enhance the value of wood waste
Building a circular ecosystem for wood waste in NSW
According to the National Waste Report 2022, 59% or 1450kt of wood waste is sent to landfill annually. With each tonne creating 600kg of CO2 equivalent gases, it’s time to up the game and divert this material from landfill. There is a huge demand for waste wood and wood based products and this project is about providing a platform to connect supply and demand stakeholders to enable a circular ecosystem or network to develop.
ISJO is seeking your help to build this Wood Cycle Connect tool into a valuable database for NSW. If you know of a business or Council that has a demand for wood or wood based products as a manufacturing input, please send their details through to info@isjo.nsw.gov.au and we will follow up and add them to the database if they are keen to be a part of this network. This project will be of interest if you have wood waste that you are currently sending to landfill, you recover wood waste, or are a technology provider to suppliers and/or users of wood waste.
