Local Priority Weeds

In addition to the State and Regional priorities, the Biosecurity Act allows for the flexibility to respond to the protection of local assets such as those detailed in the Illawarra Biodiversity Strategy and contained within our valuable production landscapes.

Because of their impact at the sub-regional level the IDWA has invested heavily in managing these weeds over time. These species are generally considered high risk and a high priority at the local level.

The IDWA undertakes local inspection and control programs on these weeds working within existing widespread weed programs aimed at strategic asset protection.
